Step into authentic Mexico with a guided visit of the quaint town, Todos Santos - a ‘Pueblo Magico or Magical Town’ so designated by retaining it’s historic and artistic charm. Have a traditional lunch at Hotel California and enjoy the beauty away from the cruise ship crowds on your private excursion.
After meeting your private guide outside your Los Cabos tender pier, you’ll take a scenic drive along the sparkling Pacific Ocean to Todos Santos in your private transportation. The drive is approximately one hour with the Pacific Ocean to your left and the Sierra Madre mountains to your right. Keep your eye peeled towards the water during the winter months as you just might spy some of the migrating humpback or gray whales close to the shore. Your first stop is on the outskirts of Todos Santos at a family run blanket factory to watch them weave the colorful blankets and rugs. You can purchase some to take home as a souvenir of your visit.
This private excursion requires a minimum of 4 to book. If you are a smaller group, you can book for 4 and pay for the extra spaces.
After 50-minutes at the factory, you’ll continue your way to Todos Santos, a little charming town considered a "Magic Town" by the Mexican Government (this name is given to towns considered historically significant by funding their preservation and restoration). You will be spending about 3 hours in Todos Santos town. Your guide would tell you about the history of the town, stories, tales, and some local lore mixed in. Todos Santos means all saints in Spanish. Make sure you see the wooden statues of the saints that line the building eves.
This tiny town is dotted with rustic brick buildings many with unusual doors, a multitude of art studios and galleries, unique crafts and shopping and loads of small cafes. Along with the small town charm is the unpaved streets, town square and old theater, a church with a long history, and some amazing views out over the valley to the Pacific.
Take your time to see this quiet town that’s a stark contrast to the tourist destination of Cabo San Lucas. Browsing the streets are both safe and easy to navigate. The entire town is approximately 6 blocks long and 4 blocks wide. There are over 20 art galleries where you can admire the handicrafts and traditions of Mexico. Many artists were drawn to the area by the laid-back vibe and aura the town has. There is a large number of ex-pat Americans and Canadians among the residents. One of the highlights is the Hotel California, founded in 1947 and now an icon in the town. You will enjoy a delicious Mexican lunch in the hotel restaurant where you can choose from Carnitas, Fish or Fish and Shrimp Baja style tacos (3 tacos are included, seasonal salad and one soft drink per person).
When your time in Todos Santos come to an end, you will board your transportation again to return to your Los Cabos tender pier. A wonderful day to know a little bit more about Mexico.
