Blue Water Sea Trek shore excursion group size is kept small with a maximum of 8 per departure only! If you have a large group (more than 8), the departures are every 30 minutes so you can do the activity together with staggered departures.
For this unforgettable underwater experience, you simply have to hop on any of the many taxis available outside your cruise ship port. The meeting location is a short 5-minute drive away.
Upon arrival, your professional English speaking staff will be waiting with your reservation. You'll store your belongings, go over the safety instructions, the equipment that you will be using and what to expect. You will also learn the hand signals that you will use to communicate underwater. Then, get ready to have some fun! Please note that guests are not allowed to wear sunscreen in the water to help protect the reef from damaging chemicals.
The concept is relatively simple. A continuous air flow into the helmet keeps the water out. Think of the helmet as a glass you turn upside down and push into a bucket of water. Physics keeps the water out and your head dry. The Sea Trek helmet will go over your head and rest on your shoulders.
Once you are ready, your guides will assist you into the water from the little beach area via a ladder. The water level will come up and stop at your shoulders (remember, physics)! Your face and head will stay dry. This is one of the few underwater activities where you can wear your prescription glasses. The bottom of the sea is just 20 feet down-basically like the bottom of a diving pool.
Your excursion guide will lead your group on a walk where you will bounce along in virtual weightlessness sort of like the astronauts on the moon! They will point out the tropical fish swimming by, play games and lead you on a fun exploration for about 25 minutes. You will then return to the ladder where you will be assisted out.
You then have a mini beach break. Your booking includes 2 beverages from the domestic bar that includes bottled water, beer, soft drinks, mixed drinks, etc. Stay and relax in the small beach area, use the provided snorkel gear, stretch out in one of the beach chairs where you can order food, snacks, and drinks. There is a full-service restaurant on site. Anything you need just let the staff know.
When you feel you had enough fun, simply walk outside and hop in any of the taxis available that will take you back to your designated cruise ship terminal.
