  • Fully licensed open-air safari-style transportation!
  • Guided snorkeling at 2 sites from shore - tugboat wreck and reef!
  • Complimentary cold bottled water and lemonade!
  • Snorkel set including varied-sized fins, sanitized snorkel, silicone mask, and vest!

You will visit one of the top ten snorkel and dive sites and an incredible historic site in Curacao on this shore excursion.

Meet your English-speaking Curacao snorkel shore excursion guide at the Curacao cruise terminal and take a 25-minute ride on board an open-air vehicle along the scenic coast of Curacao Island.

On arrival at your snorkel excursion site, you will be fitted comfortably with your snorkel equipment. Your experienced snorkel guide will cover some safety points as well as give tips on how to get the most out of your excursion.

Once you are set, you will follow your snorkel excursion guide into the water and prepare to explore the wonderful underwater world. Beginning with an impressive shallow drop-off reef, you will see colorful coral formations and tropical fish, relax in the calm waters, or float with the wave movement. Keep watch for sea turtles gliding through the water!

Continue on to the site of the "Tugboat" wreck, a 30ft long boat that sits 17ft upright on the bottom of the ocean. With over 30 years sunken on the bottom, you will see the coral-encrusted wreck along with numerous marine life living on it such as Christmas Tree Worms. Snorkel over it or hold your breath and swim down to get a closer look. Be sure to bring your waterproof camera as many fish visit the wreck hoping to get a handout snack from snorkelers. No previous experience is required to snorkel due to the shallow and calm waters. Cold bottled water and lemonade are included.

Once dry again, you will get back in your transportation and head to the historic site of Fort Beekenburg, built in 1703. Located at Caracasbaai Beach, the fort was used to protect the island from pirates and enemy nations. You can climb all the way to the top of the tower. The stones, from which the towers are made out of, were originally shipped from the Netherlands to Curacao. Enjoy the amazing views over the island!

The transportation and guide will return to your Curacao cruise terminal at the end of this unique snorkeling shore excursion in Curacao.

Great day on Curacao

Fun snorkeling with a great guide! Both the driver/tour guide and the snorkel guide were fun, helpful and made sure I had a great time! Snorkeling was very good with very easy access. Bring SHOES, the beaches are rocky! The only hard part of the trip was negotiating the steps into the back of the truck!

From the time we met our guide outside the cruiseport until we were dropped off to return to the ship...everything was amazing! Our guide (and sadly I don’t remember her name) was an adorable and very knowledgeable local young lady. You could tell she loved her job! We did 2 different snorkel sights, both beach entry areas which I loved. We were able to stay at each location for a good amount of time, never felt rushed! Once done snorkeling she drove us to a historic site we had seen on our way out to sunken tugboat snorkeling area that we had asked about. She allowed at us explore at our pace...she just patiently waited for us. Then on the drive back to the ship she pointed out many lovely things about Curaçao. You could tell she was very proud to live there and be able to share these experiences with others. We would absolutely do this one again and hope we got same wonderful guide. I definitely recommend this excursion. We only had 8 people on our tour and 6 of those were my group.

Great Experience!

We cruised with the carnival magic this past week and we booked this excursion last minute the night before arriving. Everything went great! We loved both snorkel sites but our favorite was the first stop. Our tour guide was very professional and he went out of his way to check to make sure we were ok the entire time and he took us to a few other stops as well to explore the city. There were six of us off of the carnival magic and we were all very impressed. We were back to the port by 1 PM.

Great Tour!

My family and I had a great time on this tour! The other people who were supposed to be on this tour cancelled, so it turned into a private tour. Our guide Ryan was fabulous! He let us pick where we wanted to go/what we wanted to do and gave us plenty of time to explore at our own leisure. He was the most personable guide I have ever been on an excursion with and truly made it a great experience! This was also MUCH nicer than any tour I have ever booked through the cruise line itself. There was no waiting around (you are picked up right outside at the port gate), no being herded like cattle, no crowding, and you had plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of Curacao at each location. The water was amazingly clear and the views from the high points on the island were stunning. This was the first time I ever booked through a third party and was a little leary, but I would not hesitate to book with a third party again after the experience. I was back at port in plenty of time and paid about half of what the cruise line wanted for a similar excursion.

We have been on many snorkeling excursions in the Carribean and this one was the best by far. Our guide was knowledgeable and accomodating. She did a great job in showing us the highlights of Curacao while traveling to different snorkeling sites. It was an amazing trip

Howard is the bomb
     5/5  (Visited on December 2016)
What a time! There was only 3 of us on this excursion and what a time we had. The meeting place was right outside the terminal , Howard met us and seeing only 3 of us asked us if we wanted to do the touristy thing or wanted to have an adventure. We took the adventure and what a time it was. We started out going to some remote area where they had these natural blow holes which are kinda like min geysers. We were able to stand close to the holes and have water sprayed over us , which felt good considering it was in the high 80s. Howard then took us to a beach that had maybe 10 people max, so we could snorkel and swim with the turtles. There is also a little fishing place here where the fishermen would fish, clean the fish at this little platform that local people would come to , to buy fresh fish. The fish scraps is what attracts the turtles and other fish to this area , so there were many. so cool. My boys loved it. Howard was very informative and interesting and it was apparent that he loved his country and his job. He then proceeded to take us back but not before stopping at a little roadside stand and buying us "oily balls" , a donut like thing that is very popular for new years. He even bought one for my daughter who stayed behind as she was ill. He then drove us over that long, high bridge, I believe is called the Queen Anne's bridge that provided spectacular views of the island.I forgot to mention we were riding in an open air truck. He then proceeded to drop us off downtown where they have shopping . It was a 10 minute walk back to the ship. I highly recommend this excursion.

Saw Lots of Beautiful Fish!

My husband and I went on this excursion on Feb. 6th. It was a great excursion, although not all the things listed on the description were true, which is why I dropped it one star. We were picked up at the cruise terminal and it ends up it was just my husband and myself on the excursion. We were driven around in a small car with the door handle missing on the passenger side. The guide told us that for bigger groups they used a bigger car. The guide was knowledgeable and first took us on a tour of the city, which was interesting. Then he took us to a public beach to snorkel, which turned out to be MORE THAN FANTASTIC! It was shore snorkeling around a sunken dock, very shallow and the most amazing fish I've ever seen, in abundance! He told us to stay as long as we wanted, which was nice - no guide telling us what to do and no time limit. We stayed out about 75 min. We were not asked before we came what size fins we wore, but he had two sets of equipment in the trunk that worked fine, luckily. My recommendation to the guide would be to ask fin size first. The mask wasn't defogged, so visibility was a little off, but because we were so close, it was good. When we finished this part of the excursion the guide offered us a bottle of warm water out of the trunk. I'm still not sure if that was to drink or wash our sandy feet off. Next he took us to a private area where people snorkel and dive. This was the tugboat. There were 5 pylons out there as well, with lots of fish. The water was deeper here so visibility wasn't as good, but still awesome. Some divers brought a banana to feed the fish, so we stuck by them and the fish schooled around us - really cool! Again, we had no time limit but stayed out about 75 minutes. Plenty of time. After that part of the tour we were driven to see a couple of things on that side of the island and then back to our ship. All in all it was a great snorkeling experience.

Howard met us at our cruise terminal and took us to a small beach with fantastic snorkeling right off the beach in calm shallow water. Beautiful coral and tropical fish. He then took us to a sunken tugboat which was interesting but then took us a little further out to a stunning ledge with huge fans and tons of fish. Howard is a free diver who swam with us and went out of his way to point out things we would never have seen on our own. We ended with a short trip to an old fort. Howard is very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects and very entertaining. My wife and I have snorkeled on many of the islands in the Caribbean and this ranks near the top. If you go, demand Howard as you guide. You will not be disappointed and the price is very reasonable.
