After your cruise ship ports in La Spezia, you will need to take the free pier shuttle from the pier to the terminal. Upon meeting the staff, you will board your air-conditioned coach for a short 60-minute drive to Pisa. While onboard, you will enjoy free Wi-Fi, assistance in English and Spanish, and receive a free map for your own personal use.

Once you arrive in Pisa you will have approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to explore this beautiful city. The guide will accompany you to discover the ancient walls of the city to Porta Santa Maria. From here you will be able to admire Piazza dei Miracoli, which means Plaza or Field of Miracles, and all the famous monuments of this square: the Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, the Baptistry, and much more. The first building constructed at Piazza dei Miracoli was the cathedral or Duomo di Pisa, which rests on a white marble pavement. The next building added was the baptistery, which is just west of the dome. After that work on the campanile began and even before it was completed the cemetery, Campo Santo, was built.

After your walking excursion with your guide, you'll have the opportunity to enter the Tower of Pisa (an entrance fee is included). The tower is one of the four buildings that make up the cathedral complex in Pisa. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is more accurately or simply referred to as the Tower of Pisa. It’s the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of this Italian city. Even though it is only a third as high as the Washington Monument, it was a miracle of medieval engineering and was probably one of the tallest bell towers in Europe. With 207 columns ranging around eight stories, the tower looks like a massive wedding cake knocked clumsy over by a giant guest. If time allows, you'll have free time to explore a little bit more on your own. When your Pisa time comes to an end, you will meet the bus at the prearranged spot and return back to the meeting point where you can continue sightseeing on your own if time allows or return to your La Spezia cruise terminal.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum age to participate in this excursion is 9 years old.
• Guests must be able to navigate a narrow steep staircase to access the top deck of the bus.
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines at most stops.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible. No wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters, strollers, etc.
• Seating on the bus is on a first-come basis.
• Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing Italy buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
• It is the guest's responsibility to know their ship's scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.
• Schedule times might change due to traffic or any other force majeure.

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
