  • Easy paced walking shore excursion of Nassau's famous bars!
  • Educational and entertaining, truly local Bahamas experience!
  • English speaking and certified Nassau Cruise Excursion guides!
  • Enjoy lots of rum, tasty local appetizers and handmade chocolate sweets!

Spend a fun Caribbean time away from the crowds of your cruise ship in this special 2 hour Rum and sweets-tasting walking shore excursion through the colorful downtown Nassau, Bahamas. Throw back to the days when rowdy characters such as Blackbeard the Pirate and the Real McCoy rambled down Nassau's streets!

Your friendly and English speaking Nassau cruise excursion guide will meet you just a short walk from your Nassau cruise ship terminal where you will start your journey with your first rum-sampling at Pirate's Pub.

Listen to the stories and tales of the pirate plundering and rum-running history as you indulge in a rum sampling of 6 different varieties. This shore excursion from Nassau is limited to small groups with a maximum of only 10 participants. See and learn how to really taste rum from the pros.

Then you will continue your adventure to Hillside House where you'll have the chance to try some tasty Bahamian delicacies and local specialties - freshly fried and crunchy Conch and Lobster Fritters.

Your merry band led by the Nassau shore excursion guide, will next walk over to nearby Graycliff House Chocolatier and be given samples of their delicious rum infused white chocolate caramels and truffle shots. See how some of the chocolates are made by hand.

As you discover off-the-beaten-path sites of this charming Bahamian island, your local expert excursion guide will tell you the history of the island's historical buildings as you pass them and learn how they once were used as storage space for bootleg liquor about to be transported across the ocean.

Your final rum sampling stop on this Nassau excursion will be at the John Watling's Distillery. Get to know the process of how rum is made and hear about the mysteries surrounding 17th-century pirate John Watling, for whom the distillery is named. Just in case you didn't get enough rum yet, there are rum cocktails for you - Pirate's Punch and Rum Dum. There is even a gift shop to purchase a bottle of your favorite.

This fun filled, rum-educating excursion from Nassau Bahamas ends at the distillery just a 7 minute walk back to your Nassau cruise ship terminal. Guests may return back to their cruise ship at their leisure.

We arrived super early to the restaurant (my mistake), but we were thoroughly entertained by the bartender Dino and had a delicious breakfast sandwich. We ended up with a private tour for 2 and our guide, Jaime, was both knowledgeable and personable. We sampled 5 rums and had a Bahama mama, then we walked to an art studio which had a table prepared for us. There we had conch fritters and a rum cupcake, so delicious! Then we walked to Graycliff and visited the hotel grounds, cigar shop, chocolate shop (awesome samples-better than the bigger tours) and the ice cream parlor (another awesome sample!). We wrapped up the tour at the distillery where we sampled their rum varieties out on the patio and had their signature drink. Short walk back to the ship. It was a great day!!

We had a few problems starting out but got everything figured out. We were a little behind but had a complementary drink while we waited. Orchid was our tour guide. She was great! She told us all sorts of stories and put up with our off the wall questions. She even brought us rum cupcakes her grandmother made. I plan to come back and hopefully I can request her as my guide.

My friend and I were on Royal Caribbean cruise and we were looking for something to do at Nassau. We found this tour and decided to give it a shot (rum and food... how can you go wrong, right?). The directions are a little hard to follow to get to the tour as the first location was under construction, but eventually we figured it out and met up with the tour guide (at the bar of the Pirate Museum). It ended up being just me, my friend, and two other women on the tour. I'm a history buff as well so it was great to hear the background about rum runners, bootleggers, pirates, and the history of the Bahamas as it tied in to the rum we were tasting. We started out at the first bar (The Pirate Museum) with three types of rum and learned the differences between the types, ages, and how to taste each one. This was followed by a mixed rum drink that we could take on a walk with us down the street to our next location! The next stop was a local museum which was home to the work of one of the local artists. Here we were able to try Conch Fritters and a rum (cup)cake pastry! We then proceeded to Graycliff Hotel, Cigar Factory, Chocolate Factory where we got a tour and were told the history. This was followed by more rum with chocolate. The last stop on the tour was John Watlings Distillery just outside the border of Nassau. We were greeted at the door with a pina colada shot and then made our way in for a tour and eventual tasting of three more types of their award-winning rum. The tour concluded here with a mixed rum drink called a Rum Dump that is unique to this location as it was concocted by one of the bartenders. Overall, amazing experience all around. History, chocolate, site seeing, and of course RUM! Our tour guide was very friendly and kept the entire tour entertaining. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!

We had a minor problem with our tour time but it turned out to be a great blunder to have. We ended up at a different time with only one other couple. It was like a private tour. Orchid was wonderful. She feels like a friend now. Can't wait to see her again for another tour. She was so knowledgeable and sweet. She didn't rush us through anything and let us ask as many questions as we wanted. We felt like we were getting a tour from a friend or family member. We didn't feel "led around". It was worth every penny!
