Enjoy the charm and scenery of this island onboard our open-air safari-style bus. See and visit the most recommended highlights of St. Kitts Island! You'll see Bloody Point, Carving of the Rocks, Old Plantation, and a beautiful botanical garden. Take in the amazing sights of St. Kitts.

You'll start this sightseeing adventure by meeting with your guide just outside your St. Kitts cruise port. Board an open-air Safari bus and settle in - each bus holds 20 passengers. You'll start with a drive and see the city as your guide tells you about the sights and gives you some great information.

Then you're off to Bloody Point. There's a good reason for the name. Back in 1626, both the British and the French were attempting to colonize the island. The indigenous people were called the Caribs and they decided to fight for their island. A chief from a nearby island organized a fighting party to attack the Europeans. But, although the British and the French weren't exactly friendly, they did join forces to fight the Caribs. Over 2,000 indigenous people were killed at Bloody Point. You'll have a 5-minute photo stop.

Next, you'll be taken to what's known as the Carving of the Rocks. These are carvings made by the Caribs before the 17th century many of them were cultural references, and many were carved on black rocks. You'll learn about the interesting history of the Caribs and their beliefs. As your guide is giving you information, you'll have about 5 minutes to take some photos of these amazing carvings.

Then you're off to Old Plantation. This was once a major sugar plantation and they were the first to use water to power their production. You'll enjoy about 15 minutes to explore the plantation and get some great photos of how life was for the wealthy many generations past.

Next, you'll be taken to the Botanical Gardens. The entrance fee is included. Enjoy 30 minutes of tropical beauty and learn about the ecosystem. See what plants attract what species of butterflies and birds. It features tropical birds, rainforest foliage, and much more. Carefully landscaped, this is a beautiful location for photos.

Finally, you're off to Timothy Hill. This is a scenic lookout point and it's fast becoming the trendy part of St. Kitts. With gorgeous views, you'll also be able to see where the Caribbean meets the Atlantic. See the beautiful Bay Area and more. You'll have 20 minutes to just walk around, take photos, and take it all in.

Then it's time to get back to your St. Kitts cruise ship port after your fun open-air safari bus island sightseeing.

Private driver but not a guided tour

Nice tour but not great. We had booked 7 but my in laws had too much vehicle riding from the previous 2 days so we were now a group of only 5 and were the only ones on the open safari bus. It was nice we were alone but there was no refund for them even though they were considered \"ill\". Our driver, Wentworth?, was not much of an actual tour guide with only a little commentary as we went along. We did not exit the vehicle at bloody point or the carving of the rocks (per the description, I was expecting to spend about 5 minutes outside the vehicle at both of these). I don't recall him even talking at the rocks spot and I would have enjoyed getting to see them. The plantation was nice with an enjoyable view but a guide would have been appreciated here to get a better understanding of what we were seeing. Many tours did appear to have guides walking with them. There was a fee of USD$1 to use the restroom but the next stop (at the Botanical garden/Caribelle Batik) was no charge. It would have been helpful for our driver to let us know this. I would suggest always having at least a $1 or 2 with you as we had to pay at another island to use the restroom there too. The last 2 stops (the Batik and the view of Frigate Bay from Timothy Hill) were both very nice. There's a gorgeous 400 year old tree along with beautiful views at the Garden but again, no guide for us. There was no one telling us about the plants, flowers, etc. but other tours did have guides with them. The demonstration of the fabric production was better than we had seen on another island earlier on this cruise but it still didn't actually show either the wax application or the dipping of the fabric. Our group purchased 2 different pieces of fabric here ($35 and $60 each) . Restrooms were available to us for no charge (but I think only because we were on a \"tour\"). The view of Frigate Bay and the other direction (towards Nevis) was stunning. Our driver was most excited to show us this part of the island while en route there but still didn't really tell us much. There are a handful of shops at most, if not all of the stops, along with locals encouraging you to take pictures with their monkeys and/or donkeys. We avoided the animals as didn't want to encourage that and the payment that was then expected. The drink of choice was cold and appreciated with good timing. This was an OK tour but would have been better with more of a guide. If you just want transportation this was good, if you want a guide, I'd look elsewhere.

A very complete excursion. We enjoyed it a lot and our guide was super knowledgeable; in 3 hours we learned a lot of facts and stories about St. Kitts history and culture. The botanical garden is just beautiful, you will want to take your camera.

If it's your first time on the island this is a great option. Fantastic guide narrating every stop. The history behind bloody point is dark but it's great to see how much has changed. Lot of history on this small island, very beautiful and clean. Everyone works together. One of the cleanest islands I have visited with so lush rainforest and mountains surrounding it. The safari bus is a fun option and we enjoyed it

Had a great time doing this safari. We were about 10 people so there was enough room to move around and we were not crowded. The tour guide was very informative told us the history of this island. We did a couple of stops were we were able to take pictures and ask questions. Loved the sight of the beach and the volcano satnding from Timothy Hill. Very beautiful island.

I really enjoy small excursions like these where you are able to visit a new place while making a port stop. Our tour guide was waiting for us and welcomed us with water and drinks. St. Kitts island is a hidden gem with so much nature and history. The sand has different shades, including black, for it's volcanic origins. We made several stops were we took pictures and met some local people who were really nice and wanted to join us in our group pictures. The whole ride was relaxing and entertaining, and we made it back to our meeting point back in time. Great trip.
