You won't want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind Alaskan pub crawl! You'll have the opportunity to sample everything from Alaska game jerky to "Eagle Fart" shots. This is a unique, adults-only Juneau food and drinks excursion for fun people ages 21 and older. 

Your 2.5-hour sampling session will begin after you meet your shore excursion guide at a convenient point near your Juneau cruise port. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a jacket since you will be crossing downtown Juneau on foot for this tasty 8-stop adventure that covers about 1.2 miles in total at a leisurely strolling pace.

At Deckhand Dave's you will be delighted to try locally sourced seasonal wild Alaskan fish tacos topped with red cabbage slaw, pico de gallo and cilantro served on soft corn tortillas accompanied by richly flavored craft beer.

McGivney's Sports Bar and Grill will serve you up Hog Wings, boned smoked pork shanks covered in McGiveney's own barbecue sauce with a side of blue cheese dressing.

You'll be able to wet your whistle with a craft cocktail made from locally manufactured spirits at Juneau's first distillery. The Amalga Distillery makes gin, vodka, or malt whiskey right on the premises.

Savor the house specialties, tater tots smothered in cheese known as Super Tots, and shots of Eagle Farts which is a tasty combo of Bailey's, Kahlua, and vodka at the Imperial Billiard and Bar, the oldest bar in Alaska.

Other delicious highlights include The Narrows Bar where you'll enjoy a craft cocktail and chocolate sampling as well as a stop for an Alaskan Brewing Company beer at the oldest hotel in Juneau, the Alaskan Hotel and Bar, dating back to 1913.

There's a bit of shopping to be done as well. Before you go, make sure you try the Wild Alaska Kelp salsa made from locally harvested bull kelp. This salsa from Barnacle Foods is so good you just might want to bring back several jars for friends and family!

Chef Stef's also has an array of granola, toffee, and shortbread for your enjoyment. Here you'll sample their infamous gin caramel. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to try some authentic Alaskan game jerky at Alaska Knifeworks while you browse their expansive selection of exclusive and locally made products.

With taste buds satisfied, you can continue exploring on your own having enjoyed the most delectable bites and drinks Juneau has to offer or head back to the ship.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers.

• The local operator will try their best to work within your food allergies or restrictions. Seafood and shellfish are served on this excursion, as are meats and cheeses. If you have any dietary restrictions, please leave a note while doing your booking.
  
• This excursion is only available from May 1st through September 30th.

Where we meet

For this Juneau Food and Drinks Tasting Excursion, you will meet your local excursion guide at a convenient point close to your Juneau cruise pier area. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The Juneau Juneau Food and Drinks Tasting Excursion requires approximately 1.2 miles (2 km) of walking.
  
• The minimum age to participate in this excursion is 21 years.
  
• This excursion is wheelchair accessible, however, there is a small incline mid-way.
  

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
