Your shore excursion in Ocho Rios Jamaica begins at the cruise pier. Your friendly cruise excursion guide will get you checked in and the fun underway. Your air-conditioned transportation will take you through the Jamaican countryside from Ocho Rios to the White River. The scenic ride along the coastline will take you through small towns and allow you to truly see how the locals live.

You will start at the "rafting village" where you will board your 2-person, 30ft long bamboo river raft. Your licensed rafting excursion guide will pole-push you down this well-known stretch of the White River.

The ride on the river is rather calm and the water speed varies. Although it's a slower pace, it's still quite an exhilarating trip. Please note that the journey takes about 90 minutes.

After the relaxing river rafting part on the White River, you will stop at Scotchies to enjoy some real, traditional Jamaican cuisine...jerk chicken, jerk pork, festival (a type of cornmeal fritter), roasted breadfruit and beverage, all served in an authentic and rustic Jamaican setting. Breadfruit is a large fruit with bumpy green skin and a mild cream-colored center. It was originally brought to the Caribbean as an inexpensive food source for slaves. Very authentic meal! Lunch cost is not included and is optional - $12.00 USD.

Then enjoy the ride back to Ocho Rios where you will head to Dunn's River Falls for a little physical activity or just to cool off. Climbing Dunn's River Falls is one of those "must-do" activities for anyone visiting Jamaica. Your guide will lead the group up the 600ft falls, human chain style. Or you may choose to lounge in the calm pools at the bottom and watch the parade going up!

Your transportation will take you back to the Ocho Rios cruise pier when the excursion is completed.

Excursion Notes

• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• Please note that the changing rooms at Dunn's River are located within the park. Guests will not be allowed to exit the park to leave items in the transportation. Lockers are available to rent for $8.00 USD with $3.00 USD refundable.
  
• If anyone from your group does not show up without the required prior notice, you will need to pay 20% of their balance as well (directly to the operator as a no-show penalty).
  

Where we meet

For this excursion, you will meet your guide at your Ocho Rios Cruise Terminal. All details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum participation age is 3 years old.
• Note that the maximum number of people allowed on a raft is 2.
• The maximum weight per bamboo raft is 550lbs (250Kg).
• This excursion is not allowed for guests with limited mobility.
• This Ocho Rios White River Bamboo Rafting and Dunn's River Falls Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
