Get out and about around Dubrovnik on a guided cultural walking shore excursion. With your camera at the ready, gasp in awe at the majestic buildings and architecture surrounding you in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Meet your English-speaking guide at the meeting point not far from either of the cruise ship piers in Dubrovnik. During your 90-minute walk, your guide will narrate fascinating information and anecdotes about the city and the sites.
A city abundant in history, you will see various historical buildings. From the Franciscan monastery and its church, observe a Renaissance-style Sponza Palace and St. Blaise, an 18th-century Baroque church built in honor of the city's patron saint. Although the city was heavily damaged by an earthquake in the 1660s, you will be impressed by how many of the buildings have been well preserved.
As you wander down winding cobble-stoned streets, marvel at the Gothic-Renaissance Rector's Palace with its museum and the Baroque Dubrovnik Cathedral with its impressive treasury. In the late 1970s, the city of Dubrovnik joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, and the Old Town is also printed on the local currency called the "kuna". Dubrovnik is one of the world's best-preserved walled cities and was recently used as a filming location for the TV series Game of Thrones.
The excursion ends in the Old Town. Depending on your ship's time in port, you may have free time to stroll, explore and shop. The Marine Gate to the tender pier for ships anchored off the Old Town is a few minutes away. For guests on ships at the Port of Gruz, you will need to catch a taxi back to your pier, approximately 15 minutes away at your own leisure and expense.
Where we meet
For this Dubrovnik Best of Excursion, you will meet your local excursion guide at a convenient location close to your Dubrovnik cruise terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket. If your ship does not dock and is at anchor, please allow enough time to tender ashore for your departure.
Cancellation
For the Dubrovnik Old Town Walking Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
