It does not take long for your Ketchikan adventure zipline cruise excursion to begin. Your transfer excursion guide, who is driving a custom all-terrain 4x4 Unimog, meets you directly at your Ketchikan cruise ship pier. You will drive for 25 minutes along the coast before turning inland and uphill to reach the zipline base camp. Your shore excursion guides will meet you upon arrival and help you with outfitting. Then, there is an orientation to the zip line activity. Now it is time for your canopy zipline guides to transfer you 15 minutes to the top of the course and introduce you to eight dual cable zip lines that zig and zag through the Alaska rain forest. Along the zipline excursion course, there is also a lofty suspension bridge with aerial views of Bear Creek and platforms attached to huge Western Hemlock trees that will allow you to rappel from platform to platform and again to the ground after the final zipline.

Experience panoramic ocean, forest, and mountain views from the tree platforms on this exciting and safe Ketchikan zipline cruise excursion adventure at the lush Herring Cove rainforest reserve, located an eight-mile drive along the coast from Ketchikan. In addition to tall stands of spruce, hemlock, and cedar, the ecosystem here supports an extensive wildlife population. Although one cannot guarantee wildlife sightings, guests often see eagles and bears throughout this Alaska Zipline Cruise Excursion from Ketchikan! The total time on the zipline course is approximately 100 minutes.

Returning to the excursion base camp 10 minutes down the hill, you will gear down while you compare zip line experiences with your fellow travelers. You will receive a special award in recognition of your achievement and have the chance to sample a local Alaskan snack and enjoy a hot beverage. You will also have approximately 20 minutes of free time to view your action photograph and shop in the General Store.

Then load back into the Unimog for the 25-minute trip back to your Ketchikan cruise ship pier.

Excursion Notes

• The zip line course is located on the side of a hill so there are steps and steep inclines at the base camp.
  
• There are approximately 300 steps over the course of the zip line.
  
• Restrooms are located near the suit-up area.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
  
• We recommend wearing layers with the top layer being waterproof.
• Please wear sensible walking/hiking shoes that may get wet.
  
• We suggest you have cash on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.

Where we meet

For this Ketchikan Zipline Adventure, you will meet your local excursion guide right in the Ketchikan cruise pier area. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum height requirement is 60in (152cm) and the weight is 80lbs (36Kg).
• Maximum weight limit is 250lbs (113Kg).
• Minors must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
• Full use of arms and legs is required.
• Pregnant women and guests with injuries/seizure disorders are not allowed to participate.
• All guests will be required to fill out a waiver.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
