Your first shore excursion stop of the day is Pompeii. Visit the ruins, and take in the history as you walk through the open-air museum. Admire the beautiful architecture of the Temple of Apollo, the Baths, the Casa del Fauno, the Amphitheater, and more. Pompeii is yours to discover.
Although excavations are no longer permitted because of a moratorium imposed to preserve what remains, you will have more than enough to see in your time at the ruins.
You will also visit one of the oldest coral factories in the city, admiring the masterpieces of local artisans.
Up next, you will continue to Sorrento which is adorned everywhere with bright lemon trees, which is the key ingredient of the famous Limoncello. It would almost appear as if Sorrento is a carousel that rotates around Piazza Tasso, the vital point from which the 3 main roads of the city branch off.
Positano is the last stop of your day. This cliffside village appears to be from a dream, the amazing strip of coastline with the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea on one side and the beautiful Lattari mountains on the other. You will be mesmerized as you admire the colorful little houses overlooking the sea and the many shops on the side of the streets that show off their handmade clothes in cotton and linen in perfect Positano fashion.
Following your drive back to Naples, you will be returned to your Naples cruise ship pier, where you may continue to explore at your leisure and own expense.
