We have an adventure shore excursion in Belize just waiting for you. All transportation plus complimentary lunch is provided. Please note, this Belize Jeep, Zoo, and Tropical Education Center Excursion is 5.5 hours and leaves directly from your Belize cruise ship pier, so there are no lines and no hassle, just loads of fun! Be sure to bring your camera!

This fun Belize Shore Excursion begins when you meet with your jeep excursion guide just outside your Belize cruise ship pier. Be shown your comfortable, and air-conditioned transportation and you're off for a scenic, 40-minute ride to the Belize Wildlife Sanctuary, the famous Belize Zoo, and Tropical Education Center.

At the Belize Zoo, you will enjoy a 1.5-hour guided walk-about where you will see a wide variety of wildlife indigenous to Belize. In fact, under strict supervision, you can get quite close to many of the animals, but always under the watchful eye of a handler. Come and see Lucky Boy, the black jaguar that made world news in 2011. Be introduced to Junior Buddy, a jaguar that was abandoned by his mother at two days and has been raised at the sanctuary ever since. You'll also see a wide range of other animals such as: ocelots, margays, howler monkeys, kinkajous, tapirs, toucans, jabirus, scarlet macaws, and harpy eagles. The entrance fee of the Belize Zoo Wildlife Sanctuary is included; the fee along with any shopping you may do at the gift shop goes towards wildlife preservation.

Then it will be time to head off for the Jeep Safari Excursion base camp. The ride to the camp is short, approximately 15 minutes, and, once you're there you will be shown to your stick shift Jeep. If you need one of the two automatic Jeeps, please indicate that on your booking (comment box); the automatic Jeeps are on a first come first serve basis. The Jeeps are shared with other participants and can comfortably sit up to 4 adults and one small child. Driving duties may be switched off part-way through the excursion. For those who would like the Jeep just to themselves, there is the VIP / Private Jeep option - the empty spaces must be purchased at an adult rate (the private Jeep option requires booking 4 participants per Jeep, please indicate the private option in the comment box provided in the booking process).

Then buckle up and take off, following your English-speaking jeep excursion guide, across varied terrains such as dirt roads, wetlands, and muddy jungle trails. Do be prepared to get dirty, but that's part of the fun. Make sure to keep an eye out for tropical birds and lush, exotic, foliage. You will get to see the beauty that is Belize before tourism on this fun ride. The natural beauty is breathtaking!

You will enjoy about 2 hours of Jeep riding fun that will also include some great photo stops along the way. You will even have a chance to see hidden caves tucked away in the rainforest. Follow your Belize jeep excursion guide into open and unique Mayan caves and see the beauty created by both nature and ancient culture. Then take a dip and wash off the dirt, if you'd like, in the hidden tropical river located on private property.

After this portion of your adventure Shore Excursion in Belize, you will be offered a complimentary Belizean lunch, typically chicken with rice and beans accompanied by potato salad, cold water, and soft drinks are offered too. There will be a cash bar if you'd like to purchase other beverages.

Once you've eaten and rested it will be time to hop onboard the transportation and you will be returned to your Belize cruise ship pier.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest guests come dressed to get dusty, muddy, and dirty depending on the past and/or current weather conditions.
  
• Bring along sun protection, a protected camera, cash for the balance amount, tips, souvenir or beverage purchases, etc.
  
• All guests that want to drive a Jeep must present their valid driver's license.
• All Jeeps are shared unless all 4 spaces are purchased at an adult rate so guests have the Jeep to themselves.

Where we meet

For the Belize Jeep, Zoo, and Tropical Education Center Excursion, you will meet directly outside your Belize city cruise ship terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• All Jeep drivers must be 18 years old and must present a valid driver's license.
• The minimum participation age is 3 years old.
• There is a maximum of 4 participants in a Jeep, or 4 adults and 1 small child.
• Due to the walking involved, this excursion is not allowed for guests with limited mobility.
• This Belize Jeep, Zoo and Tropical Education Center Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
