Wine lovers will be delighted with this dining experience at Mount Vesuvius! Enjoy a guided walk through the vineyard on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius and experience a delicious wine-tasting and Italian lunch.

Your guide will meet you at your Naples cruise port where you will board your air-conditioned transportation for a picturesque ride to the slopes of Mount Vesuvius and your destination at the wine vineyard. Located in the Gulf of Naples, this volcano is perhaps best known for its explosive eruption in 79 AD, burying Pompeii and several other settlements in molten rock and ash. The eruption actually released 100,000 times the thermal energy that was released by the Hiroshima-Nagasaki bombings!

Following a 20-minute guided walk where you will experience the scents and flavors of the Campania Ars Vinearia, you will be seated for your special Mediterranean lunch. The typical meal includes a number of regional dishes that are truly a gastronomic experience! You may be served Piennolo Vesuvio - the beautiful small tomatoes of the Vesuvio area - in Donnangela extra virgin olive oil! Pasta Scarpariello is also a likely dish. Scarpariello means "Shoemaker's" style and consists of olive oil, garlic, and several other delicious herbs! Other delectable items include local salami, grilled vegetables, semi-spicy provolone cheese, fresh green olives, and a homemade dessert. Of course, you will receive a glass of wine with each course of your meal! If you wish to purchase additional glasses or even a bottle or two of wine, you are more than welcome to do so at your own expense. Indulge your taste buds and senses on this unique excursion plus learn a bit of history along the way. Please note that the specific vineyard visited depends on the day/crowds.

At the end of your amazing experience, your guide will return you to your Naples cruise port with your palate completely satisfied!

• Excursion prices are quoted in US dollars.
• The balance must be paid in EUROS only. The total amount in Euros would be shown on your E-Ticket.
• As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered on men and women.
• We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
• Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
• Spanish and French guides are available upon request. Please leave a note while doing your reservation.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
• There is a minimum of 2 people needed per booking.

Where we meet

For this Naples Wine Tasting with Lunch Excursion, you will meet your local driver/guide inside your Naples cruise port. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the transportation.
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
• Please note that there is no minimum age for alcohol consumption, however, guests must be 18 years or older to purchase alcohol.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
