Description

  • Round-trip transportation from your Falmouth cruise ship terminal!
  • Air-conditioned, fully licensed, and insured transportation!
  • English-speaking certified guides!
  • Entrance fees to Rose Hall Great House and Doctor's Cave Beach are included!
  • The best highlights and sights of Montego Bay include the crafts market, Hip Strip, Dr.'s Cave Beach, and more!

Leaving right from the cruise pier in Falmouth, the first stop on your journey will be at Jamaica's famous Rose Hall Great House. Your friendly, English-speaking guide will be giving you facts and explanations throughout the excursion. This stunning mid-18th-century house was also the home of Annie Palmer who was known as the White Witch.

Your certified guide will show you around the grounds, gardens, and into the house. They will share the history, background, and folklore surrounding this great example of Georgian architecture. Mrs. Palmer not only openly practiced voodoo but also murdered all 3 of her husbands here as well as several gentlemen callers. Coincidentally, she too was found murdered in the house.

As you leave Rose Hall, you will travel the "High Road" to take in the awesome views of the city, port, and open ocean. You'll stop next at the crafts market by the old fort to check out their hand-created items. You will continue through Sam Sharpe Square in the town's center dedicated to the national hero, Samuel Sharpe.

Then you will continue on to the Hip Strip for some duty-free shopping and a visit to Margaritaville, one of the most famous beach restaurants/bars in Jamaica. Nice sunshine and sandy beaches is waiting for you. Entrance to Doctor's Cave Beach is included; named for the physician who once owned the property and gained access to the beach via a cave. The water is supposed to have healing powers...check it out for yourself!

The transportation will take you back to the cruise pier when your fun day has come to a close. Please consider there is a minimum 4 pax to run the excursion.

We had a wonderful first-time visit to Jamaica! Our tour guide and our driver were awesome - funny, informative, and kept everyone entertained with tidbits about the island. Our stops were interesting, and we had plenty of beach time. I highly recommend this tour!

We got off the boat and walked outside the terminal area and had to wait about 30 minutes in the parking lot to board the bus. Not a lot of fun in the heat and humidity just standing outside in a large group waiting. We had to switch from a small bus to a SUV down the road. We were driven out to Rose Hall. The driver was nice and friendly and had a lot of info about the town and surrounding areas. It took a bit to get our tour sorted as they weren't accepting the tickets we were given to use. Once that was done, we took the tour. It was just ok. The tour guide was nice but very curt and it felt a bit rushed. It was so hot, I thought they'd give us more time to relax in the bar area for refreshments. There was a girl working in the bar area who was super friendly and really made us smile. Try the ginger beer soda, it's so refreshing. We continued on a short tour of the grounds and foliage. They run you by a guy selling handmade items. Then after that, you check out a grave site and the tour is over. Unfortunately our driver was late getting back so we waited almost 30 minutes just sitting there. After Rose Hall we were driven around the town. We stopped at an old church and checked it out for a minute. It was so hot and there were so many beggars, it was a bit much. Most of the places listed on the tour were closed so we didn't stop at any of them. Then we got to the beach break portion and had another problem. They charged us to get in. We explained that it was supposed to be included in the tour and showed our receipts but they insisted that we had to pay. They really nickel and dime you at this beach. You have to pay for towels, chairs, and umbrella. There was a restaurant there you could eat at. They only serve water and alcoholic drinks though, so if you want juice or soda, no go. The water was fine. It was a little crowded but not too bad. Everyone on the beach was friendly and the view while eating was great and the food was decent but took a really long time to get. We only had about an hour at the beach area unfortunately. I reached out to ShoreExcursioneer and explained what happened and they got my entrance fees refunded so that was nice. But overall, we weren't impressed. Some other ladies who were on the same SUV with us had gone to the Hard Rock beach break and they raved about it saying that everything on the beach like chairs and towels were all free. Personally, I'd just rather go right to the beach when the weather is so hot and humid.

From the beginning the guide was very kind and knew a lot about the subject, Juan Carlos had a lot of patience, explaining everything about the culture of Jamaica and some tips, he even brought us gifts. (Google translated)

We loved seeing Rose Hall. What a neat building and grounds. I liked seeing Montego Bay City on the drive. You get a sense of the local scene and how people live outside of the tourist area. Then we went to Dr Cave and enjoyed some great food, drinks and the awesome Caribbean beach with incredible water to swim in! Our tour guide was a local named Kevin. He was very polite, accommodating, informative and made us feel perfectly safe. Kudos to Kevin from the fellow drummer from Oklahoma!

The whole excursion was fun but the best parts were Rose Hall and Dr.'s Cave Beach. The story behind Rose Hall had me intrigued when I read the description of the excursion. The history of the white witch is a true story and this should be a must see. Doctor's Cave Beach had an equally interesting story and is one of the prettiest little beaches. Nice tour.

I did some research and decided I had to see Rose Hall. I am a big mystery book lover and the story about Annie the White Witch had me hooked! I was not disappointed. Our ship docked in Falmouth so the tour took us to Rose Hall. The guides really got into their story telling. The tour was very fascinating and I enjoyed the sightseeing of Montego Bay. The shopping was okay but I did find some unique little craft items. Doctors Cave Beach was kinda of crazy but it is something to see! Really enjoyed this tour.
