You will meet your English-speaking local guide directly outside of your cruise pier in Roatan. They will help you board your air-conditioned van; the first stop is your Zip Line adventure. The professional staff will give a site orientation, and thorough safety briefing and ensure proper equipment fit. 13 separate zip lines composed of 16 platforms make up this canopy zip line system. You can feel super safe, the zip line has double lines and your guide will attach you to a double carabiner clip. Gravity will do all the work as you glide from one platform to the next, where another guide will unclip you. Then you will continue to the next line.
Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for the different jungle wildlife that make their homes among the lines. Green iguanas, spider monkeys, and parrots all live in the area. Once you have completed the full zipline course, there is a snack bar on site, to purchase some refreshments before boarding the van to head off to the seaside.
On the northwestern coast of Roatan, West End is a mile-long section of gift shops, hotels, dive shops, bars, mini-marts, and restaurants. You will board your boat and enjoy a quick 5-minute ride out into the Blue Channel, depending on which boat is used, it will fit 10 to 15 guests comfortably. Your guide will give you a snorkeling briefing and help you to gear up. Then, splash, into the beautiful clear water!
Starting at just 10 feet (3 m) of depth your guide would point you to coral heads, barrel sponges along with many types of tropical fish. You will move towards a small wall that has a depth of 45 feet (13 m). Heading towards the shallows again keep your eyes open for moray eels, porcupine fish, and schools of silversides! After about 45 minutes in the water, it will be time to board the boat again and head back to shore. Please note that you will be snorkeling from the boat and will not be able to stand on the bottom.
Note: You can choose the observer option if you want to sit out 1 of the 2 activities. Observers at the zipline park will wait at the base camp. Observers of the snorkel can wait on the beach or go along on the boat to watch.
Back on shore, you will have some time to purchase something to eat or drink at your choice of the restaurants available, stroll the beach, take a swim, and do a little shopping before it is time to pack up and board the van. You will be transported directly back to your Roatan cruise ship pier.
Enjoy the best of Roatan! With this zipline, snorkel, and beach break combo, you would visit a zip line park and feel the adrenaline while gliding through the trees. Then snorkel in the crystal waters and explore the sea life the Blue Channel has to offer. Then relax on a beach break.
